About the Programme
The Barbados Co-operative &
Credit Union League Ltd. offers a unique collection of seminars,
workshops and customized training solutions to its members, clients and
the general public. Our clients can choose from a range of one-day,
two-day, six-week or twelve-week interventions. Under our customized
training solutions, our clients can have any intervention specially
’tailor-made’ to satisfy their specific needs.
Registration Procedures
There are a number of
methods by which participants may register for seminars/courses. We
recommend that registration be done via one of the following methods:
-
Telephone: 429-7075 - Weekdays 8:30
a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
-
Fax: 436-5848
-
Online from each
courses page.
-
E-mail:
training@barbadoscoopleague.org
Whatever the method,
detailed information such as participant’s name, a contact number and
the name of your credit union/co-operative must be supplied. It is
critical that a registration be made on behalf of each participant in
the event that there is a change in arrangements. It is the
responsibility of participants to confirm course dates, times and venues
when in doubt.
Open Training Policy
Our training programmes are open to private
individuals (currently not Co-operators) who may find our
seminars/workshops of some use. Kindly contact the office for
further details.
Cancellation Policy
The Training & Education
department should be notified of any cancellations by telephone
or e-mail (request acknowledgement status) no less than one (1) working
day prior to the scheduled date of the training. The League reserves
the right to cancel or reschedule seminars/workshops/courses that are
under-subscribed. Where a course is over-subscribed, we will endeavour
to offer the training at a future date.
Attendance
Administration
Where a participant is
registered for a seminar/workshop and does not show without prior notice,
this presents considerable challenges for us in terms of administration
and catering. We urge you to give reasonable notice if you are
unable to attend a session for which you are registered.
Training Times
All day training sessions
commence at 9:00 a.m. and usually conclude at 4:00 p.m. One hour is
allotted for lunch and the AM refreshment break will be indicated in the
course material. The PM break will also be indicated but may be open in
the interest of time at the facilitator’s discretion.
Training Venues
Based on the fact that the League does not
have its own training facility, arrangements have been made at various
venues to accommodate training. Notification of the training venue will
be provided in advance of training and upon registration. Where there
is a change in arrangements, participants will be contacted (according
to their registration) and informed of the new arrangements. In the
event of a change in venue, the League cannot be held responsible in
circumstances where participants have not been registered and were
therefore not notified.
Training Methodology
The training methods used in our training
interventions are practical and highly interactive. Participants are
encouraged to share their views and experiences with the group. Some
sessions may include the use of videos, role-play, short case studies,
small group sessions, practical demonstrations and presentations.
Customized Training
The League offers customized training for
its members and clients on a request basis. In the event that this is
required, the League will undertake all administrative duties relating
to the training in consultation with members/clients. The League also
provides assistance to members in the area of consulting, management and
HR related areas that may be identified from time to time.
Call-out Courses
The following courses are not scheduled for
2005 . However, if a request is made to run one of these courses we
will make the necessary arrangements. If you have a special interest
and it is not listed here, ask us about it and perhaps we can make it
available to you.
